Job Overview

The Business Grants Hub is a key department responsible for the establishment and management of granting programs in partnership with other Commonwealth departments. Our team works closely with policy agencies to ensure successful delivery of outcomes across government, streamlining government grants to improve business interactions and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with policy partners and other stakeholders;
  • Engage with policy partners early in the design process to inform the development of new policy proposals and costings;
  • Shape, influence and negotiate program design and delivery with other members of a multi-disciplinary project team;
  • Monitor progress against key deliverables to ensure that programs are launched and delivered on time, in consultation with stakeholders;
  • Work with other teams across the department to develop and review shared templates and processes to achieve continuous improvement;
  • Provide quality program, service and technical advice and expertise;
  • Manage quality in drafting and reviewing grant program documentation;
  • Lead and manage a small team that may be geographically dispersed, including establishing expectations, scheduling, and reviewing work and managing improvement initiatives;
  • Support, mentor, and coach members of the team to develop their capability, build a positive and productive culture, and facilitate the production of high-quality work.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in, or the ability to quickly gain an understanding of, grant design, delivery, or management;
  • Leadership experience including experience in developing and managing staff and building teams to deliver high-quality outputs;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong ability to negotiate;
  • Strategic perspective, an eye for detail and ability to drive work;
  • Excellent organisation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills;
  • A flexible and adaptable approach and comfortable in working in a changing environment.
Eligibility:

This recruitment process is being used to fill permanent, ongoing Executive Level 1 roles. Applicants will be assessed in line with the Australian Public Service Work Level Standards for these roles.
