As a Senior Program Officer, you will play a key role in managing and implementing various aspects of our grants programs.

This involves planning, project management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, communication, and administration skills. You will work as part of a small team, responsible for delivering quality outcomes and undertaking grants administration using our Research Management System (RMS) and other related systems.

The Senior Program Officer may be responsible for:

  • Delivering quality outcomes through effective time management and priority setting skills.
  • Supporting and managing grant administration tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Interpreting and consistently applying policy, procedures, guidelines, and legislation.
  • Navigating complex and sensitive situations.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Providing clear, accurate, and timely advice to research sector and other external stakeholders.
  • Fostering collaboration and managing professional relationships.
  • Working flexibly across teams to provide support across the branch as required.

In addition, you will have opportunities to contribute to strategic projects and process improvements. We are seeking someone with sound judgement, strong attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly in a changing work environment.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing projects and/or programs, including time management and organisational skills. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage high-level stakeholders, build collaborative relationships, and manage staff.

Strong IT skills, particularly in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, are essential. The successful candidate will also have high level oral and written communication skills, effectively sharing clear and accurate information.
