Job Overview

A Derivatives Monitoring Specialist is required to join our regulatory team in Sydney. This role involves providing second-line monitoring, feedback, and recommendations to ensure robust controls, effective risk management, and alignment with our firm's risk appetite.

This specialist will be responsible for developing and conducting oversight and monitoring of derivatives activities within our Australian operations.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of experience with derivatives, ideally in FX options. They should possess strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will be a confident communicator able to engage with stakeholders in a robust yet commercially minded manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and conduct oversight and monitoring of derivatives activities within our Australian operations.
  • Act as the second line of defence, monitoring controls and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Review and monitor client communications (including calls and emails), providing feedback to employees to ensure regulatory compliance and best practice.
  • Perform compliance monitoring, report results, and recommend improvements to derivatives activities and controls.
Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience with derivatives, ideally in FX options.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter while contributing effectively in a team environment.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders in a robust yet commercially minded manner.
