Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our collection development efforts, ensuring that our libraries offer diverse and engaging materials for all ages.

Responsibilities:
  • Select and acquire materials for adult, children, and youth collections, including Languages Other Than English (LOTE) and digital formats.
  • Partner with subject experts to refine collection profiles, document acquisition procedures, and deliver training to empower staff across the library network.
  • Drive collection development initiatives that enhance our offerings and respond to emerging trends and community needs.
  • Act as a shift supervisor and provide outstanding customer service, helping connect people with the resources they need.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Management with relevant experience in collection development and acquisitions.
  • Financial and procurement experience, including purchasing, invoicing, and budget management.
  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in collections.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
