We are seeking a skilled Flood Risk Engineer to join our team in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for writing Flood Risk Assessment reports, creating surface water drainage strategies, and conducting river/flood modeling to determine mitigation and suggest improvement schemes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement Flood Risk Assessment reports for strategic development schemes in Flood Zones 1, 2 & 3.
- Design and create surface water drainage strategies for proposed development sites, incorporating SuDS, either as part of an FRA or standalone.
- Conduct river/flood modeling (1D, 2D and 1D-2D) to determine mitigation and suggest improvement schemes.
- Educated to a minimum standard of Degree (in Civil engineering, Geography or equivalent).
- Knowledge of current legislation, drainage design standards and good practice, including Sewers for Adoption, FEH, F&WMA, NHBC Standards, CIRIA 753 (SUDS Manual), NPPF, etc.
- Proficient in the use of MicroDrainage and flood modeling software packages such as XP Storm, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW or Flood Modeller.
- 25 days annual leave (Increasing for 2, 5 & 10 years of service).
