Graduate Hydrologist

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Hydrologist to join our team at BG&E Corporation Pty. As a Graduate Hydrologist, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects related to flood modelling and drainage design.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing hydrologic and hydraulic models and calculations to assist in flood modelling and drainage design. This will involve working with a range of software and tools, including TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, DRAINS, WBNM, RORB, and GIS packages.

You will also be responsible for GIS data analysis and flood mapping, as well as designing waterways and flood mitigation measures. Additionally, you will be required to coordinate with other engineering disciplines and participate in interdisciplinary workshops as needed.

1. Develop and implement hydrologic and hydraulic models to support flood modelling and drainage design.
2. Analyze GIS data to identify flood-prone areas and develop flood maps.
3. Design waterways and flood mitigation measures to reduce the risk of flooding.
4. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
5. Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate project results to stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of hydrology and flood modelling, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
