Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Dams/Civil to join our team. As a key member of our civil engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering complex projects, including wind, solar, battery storage, pumped hydro, and utilities works. You will work closely with our experienced team to develop and implement innovative solutions, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver complex civil engineering projects, including design, construction, and operation.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • 12-15 years of experience in civil or environmental engineering, science, or hydrology.
  • Strong experience with Australian hydrological and hydraulic practices, including current design guidelines and standards.
  • Strong hydrologic modeling and flood forecasting skills using standard industry software.
  • Strong programming skills (preferably in R or Python) applied to hydrology projects.
  • Advanced statistical skills related to design flood hydrology, including flood frequency approaches and total probability methods.
  • Analysis of impacts of climate change and climate variability on water availability.
  • Use of semi-distributed or lumped conceptual rainfall-runoff models for event-based and continuous simulation.
  • Familiar with model calibration approaches for both event-based and continuous simulation hydrological models.
