About the Role

Mallee Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate Services team in Mildura, VIC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting accounts payable and contract administration functions, contributing to the financial processes within the Corporate Services Unit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing accounts payable invoices and contract claims
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Generating and processing Accounts Payable payment runs
  • Maintaining supplier and contract party details
  • Assisting with audits and financial reporting
  • Supporting financial management tasks such as month-end activities, fixed asset registers, and budget reports
  • Handling corporate card processing and reconciliations
  • Supporting procurement processes and ensuring adherence to policies

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • A relevant qualification or enrolment in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and understanding of basic bookkeeping
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Technology One Financial Suite experience is an advantage)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

About the Benefits

Mallee CMA offers a competitive salary of $71,000 – $75,300 (pro-rata) PLUS superannuation, based on skills and experience. Benefits include:
