We are seeking a seasoned Film Industry Leader to head our Sydney office, overseeing all aspects of business and production.

Job Description

This role involves managing the Australia team, maintaining business standards, and driving opportunities in film and advertising.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Australia team and overseeing all aspects of business and production.
  • Managing P&L for the Australia office.
  • Achieving revenue targets by proactively working with advertising agencies and brands to pitch on new briefs, negotiate budgets, and win pitches.
  • Building relationships and developing business strategies to grow the Australia and New Zealand market.
  • Oversight of producers, projects, and budget management.
  • Maintaining company culture, promoting drive and energy across the team while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Overseeing operations, processes, quality, and eL standards across projects in the region.
  • Ensuring seamless execution of the filmmaking process from development to post-production.
  • Coordinating multiple project schedules and timelines.
  • Developing and maintaining the company's Director and DOP Roster in line with eL standards and style.
  • Collaboration with international teams to provide support where needed.
  • Sustaining eL's position as a high-end, trustworthy film house in the advertising sector and direct to brands in Australia.
  • Proactive growth of the network, engaging client prospects in Australia.
Requirements

We seek a candidate with:

  • At least 8 years of experience in production at an advertising agency or production company with oversight responsibilities for multiple projects.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Experience in Film and Advertising preferred.
  • A strong network in Australia and the region, both in the advertising/brand sector and production resources.
  • Sales and relationship-building abilities.
  • Business and relationship-building acumen.
  • Management skills, including team management and departmental oversight.
  • Production and post-production management experience.
  • Branding and marketing knowledge.
  • Ability to strategize and plan for the business.
  • Accounts and budgeting knowledge.
  • Experience managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with legal elements surrounding film and business, including contracts, negligence, delict, and intellectual property.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
