Job Title:

A Psychologist is required to join our team at a Correctional Centre in Central Queensland.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, providing psychoeducation related to mental health conditions, and delivering individual or group-based brief interventions aimed at developing coping skills and building resilience.
Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include conducting risk assessments and developing tailored interventions to support mental health and wellbeing. Additional duties include providing education and training to individuals on mental health conditions, symptoms, and treatment options. The role also involves delivering group-based interventions focused on developing coping skills and building resilience.

About You:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Psychologist who can demonstrate expertise in psychological assessment and intervention for adults with mental health conditions, cognitive impairments, or developmental disorders. Key qualifications include experience in risk assessment and rehabilitation strategies in correctional settings, strong communication skills for engaging diverse client groups and stakeholders, and the ability to apply research-based practices to offender rehabilitation.

  • Experience in psychological assessment and intervention for adults with mental health conditions, cognitive impairments, or developmental disorders
  • Knowledge of risk assessment tools and rehabilitation strategies in correctional settings
  • Strong communication skills for engaging diverse client groups and stakeholders
Requirements:

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree (4-year minimum) in Psychology or Behavioural Science, hold General or provisional registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA (or eligibility to obtain registration upon commencement), and meet National Psychology Board and AHPRA registration standards. Professional Indemnity Insurance is also required if engaged in secondary employment.
