Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric care and be able to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in an Inpatient Unit setting. This will involve conducting thorough assessments of patients, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing ongoing care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their mental health needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans
  • Provide expert care and support to patients, including medication management and therapy sessions
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to confidentiality and data protection guidelines

Requirements:

  • Completion of a medical degree and/or relevant postgraduate qualifications
  • Registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current license to practice medicine in Australia
  • Proven experience working in a psychiatric setting, preferably in an Inpatient Unit
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
