Safety and Wellbeing Specialist
">About the Role:The Safety and Wellbeing team provides expert advice and support in Workplace Health and Safety, Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation, and Employee Wellness.
This includes implementing policies and procedures and designing initiatives to improve workplace safety and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for advising and responding to workplace health, safety, and organisational wellbeing across the Wacol Precinct.
">Key Responsibilities:- Perform functions as Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator under the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 to help meet legal obligations.
- Assist in managing worker's compensation claims and rehabilitation activities.
- Investigate workplace injuries, illnesses, and dangerous events, providing practical advice and recommendations to prevent recurrences.
- Provide training and information to management and staff on workplace health and safety, worker's compensation, and relevant legislation and policies.
- Engage in hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control activities.
- Conduct or coordinate internal inspections and audits, and report on the development, implementation, and effectiveness of safe systems of work.
Please note that a valid Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 qualification is required for this role.
In addition, you must have experience in workplace health and safety, workers compensation, and employee wellness.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies is also essential.
