About the Role
Position: Safety, Health & Sustainability Coordinator
Location: North Fremantle
Status: Full Time
Duties
- Ensure business units comply with group HSE standards and statutory obligations by completing compliance audits and developing action plans.
- Mentor and coach site supervisors through regular site visits to ensure SHEMS is implemented effectively.
- Collate reports on incidents, safety statistics, recordable injuries, lead and lag indicators for corporate reporting.
- Assist in conducting accident/incident investigations using ICAM and ensure investigations are entered into the online incident management system.
- Participate in and facilitate OHS committees and forums to ensure sites meet group standards and the enterprise agreement.
- Provide input to the State Safety Manager on system improvements and initiatives to ensure legal and statutory compliance.
- Review contractor safety plans and submissions to ensure compliance with Qube requirements.
- Implement Qube safety strategies and develop site safety plans to minimize risks.
- Plan and lead risk assessments of operations, working environment, and current work practices/procedures.
- Work with the State SHE Manager to ensure corporate governance processes are implemented.
- Manage Qube's environmental management system to ensure compliance with group standards and statutory obligations.
- Provide advice and support on vehicle access regimes, route planning, and driver assessment processes.
- Manage return-to-work cases with the State SHE Coordinator.
- Develop and review specific SWI/SWMS with relevant site personnel and SMEs.
About You
- Previous transport industry experience preferred but not required; willing to train and upskill the right candidate.
- Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment.
- Environmental qualifications would be beneficial.
- Training/Auditing qualifications would be well regarded.
- Excellent planning and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with the ability to influence outcomes from a support role.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with various people.
- Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution.
- Reliable, team player with a can-do attitude.
- Strong data entry and accuracy.
- Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organization skills.
- Focused and compliant with all safe work practices.
