In this role, you will be an integral part of our Health and Safety team, working closely with internal stakeholders to promote and maintain a positive health and safety culture for all employees.
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and professional Health and Safety Project Officer to provide administrative support to the Health and Safety team and facilitate a safe working environment for employees through continuous improvement of the existing Health and Safety framework.
The successful candidate will build effective relationships and liaise with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify solutions, and engage stakeholders throughout the project process.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and Monitor WHS Projects: Develop and implement WHS projects, initiatives, improvements, milestones, and timeframes to ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor WHS Data: Verify reportable WHS data to ensure accuracy for compilation of WHS reporting.
- Facilitate Document Review: Monitor and facilitate the WHS Management System document review and control process.
- Record Meeting Minutes: Record, prepare, and distribute WHS committee meeting minutes and monitor actions.
- Audit Coordination: Assist with the coordination of WHS Management system audits.
- Training Development: Contribute to the development of relevant WHS training material.
- Maintenance of Emergency Response Plans: Maintain Emergency Response requirements at facilities, including plans and diagrams.
- Support Across the Health and Safety Team: Provide general support across the Health and Safety team as required.
- Confidentiality and Other Duties: Maintain confidentiality and undertake other duties as required.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- 2 years' experience in a similar Health and Safety role.
- Relevant knowledge of WHS legislation and practices related to Health and Safety.
- Understanding of the principles of a Health and Safety Management System.
- Understanding of WHS performance reporting requirements, including injury management.
- Previous experience in Workers Compensation and Injury Management.
- Previous experience in the disability sector.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Motivated to deliver a high standard of customer service.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.

Salary Package
The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000-$110,000, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
