Work Health Specialist

Work Health specialists play a vital role in supporting the Australian Census workforce.
The team is responsible for providing expert guidance on work health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks and organisational policies.
Vacancies exist at various levels:
- Work Health and Safety Officer (APS5)
- Senior Work Health and Safety Adviser (APS6)
- Principal Work Health and Safety Adviser (EL1)
Positions are located in Perth and Canberra, with temporary contracts up to 18 months.
About the roles
As a Work Health and Safety specialist, you will provide critical support to the Census workforce, ensuring a safe and successful delivery of the project.
You will engage with stakeholders, build relationships, and maintain a safety-first culture across the organisation.
About you
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in computer systems
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and manage stress
- Capacity to respond positively to diverse stakeholders and communicate respectfully
- Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety or Public Safety highly regarded
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $85,204 - $135,935

Additional information
The Field Safety Response Line provides critical support to staff during operational hours. As a member of this team, you will be expected to share your availability to ensure consistent support for the team's delivery.
