Water Quality Specialist

This exciting opportunity involves working collaboratively and independently in a laboratory to conduct water quality analysis and aquatic ecology research.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze freshwater and marine macroinvertebrates in a lab setting.
- Conduct biological analysis of water and wastewater samples according to established procedures.
- Maintain high standards of quality control, including data entry, calibrations, and checks.
- Collaborate with team members to meet customer needs and ensure efficient lab operations.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize systems and processes.
- Participate in internal audits and uphold accreditation standards.
- Tertiary qualifications in Biology or a related science discipline.
- Experience in identifying freshwater and marine macroinvertebrates in a lab setting.
- Comfortable conducting fieldwork and using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
- Understanding of quality assurance systems, including NATA and ISO 9000.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear reports using Word, Excel, and LIMS.
