Geotechnical Engineer Job Description

The role of a geotechnical engineer is pivotal in delivering high-quality end-to-end geotechnical services to clients. As a specialist, you will provide expert consultation on various projects, including foundation designs, retaining wall stability investigations, and earthwork supervision.

This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and consult with clients on design outcomes. A key aspect of the role is building and maintaining strong client relationships within the local market.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering or a related field, along with relevant experience in a similar role. They should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in major geotechnical design software suites and Microsoft tools.

Job Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution
  • At least 2+ years' experience in a geotechnical role
  • Experienced geotechnical investigation background to AS1726
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Able to negotiate complex project contracts
  • Proficient software skills in major geotechnical design suites (RocScience, Wallop) and Microsoft Suite
