Job Description

The role of Mental Health Support Officer is a critical position within our organization, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and administrative support to clients, staff, and stakeholders.

This dual-role position combines administrative responsibilities with structured opportunities to observe and contribute to mental health program delivery, helping build foundational knowledge and skills relevant to future practice in mental health or community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level customer service and administrative/operational support to clients, staff, and internal and external stakeholders
  • Support psychology or social work students seeking meaningful exposure to community-based mental health services
Required Skills and QualificationsAdministrative and Organizational Skills
  • Ability to manage reception duties, respond to inquiries, and coordinate appointment schedules accurately and efficiently
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Confident using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and client information systems (or a demonstrated ability to learn quickly)
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage respectfully and effectively with clients, staff, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Friendly, compassionate, and professional approach to client and staff interactions

  • Demonstrates genuine care and respect in all interactions
  • Maintains confidentiality, professional boundaries, and appropriate self-presentation at all times
