About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SCADA Systems Engineer to join our team at AusNet Services Ltd in Melbourne, Australia.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work on managing and operating GE e-Terra SCADA platforms, technologies, and associated applications. As a key member of the Energy Network Systems team, you will be responsible for delivering real outcomes, including:

  • Providing support, maintenance, development, and continual improvement across AusNet's GE e-Terra Advanced Energy Management Systems (AEMS) platforms, technologies, and related applications servicing electricity (transmission & distribution) and gas (distribution)
  • System maintenance tasks as per standard protocols and procedures
  • Incident and problem management, including maintenance of system support processes, prioritisation, triage, and resolution of problems and incidents impacting the AEMS platform and associated technologies and applications
  • Analysing service and component availability, reliability, maintainability, and serviceability, monitoring performance, and anticipating issues and problems
  • Patch management, including configuration and implementation of patches in accordance with protocols and procedures
  • Assisting with designing, managing, testing, and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery protocols and processes
  • Management of planned and unplanned changes in accordance with established change control procedures, including new or changed network elements (new database points)
  • Actively seeking opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities, and products to improve performance of the AEMS

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SCADA systems, experience working with GE e-Terra AEMS System, and knowledge of primary plant, network protection, and control devices.
