Aerospace Structural Design Engineer

This role is part of our Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops our multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. We are building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design cycle of structural and mechanical subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, structural analysis, development testing, and qualification.
- Generate 3D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents.
- Document assembly and testing of development and flight hardware.
- Participate in subsystem-level testing, including planning, execution, data reduction, and analysis.
- Develop component specifications and manage suppliers.
- Provide manufacturing and production support.
- Participate in the development and purchase of new equipment and tooling.
- Work with multi-functional teams selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers to produce world-class aerospace hardware.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a B.S. Degree in engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in Design Engineering.
- Familiarity with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
- Material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques.
- Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
- Familiarity with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Compensation:
The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $125,480 to $175,672 based on location, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
