Join Our Team as a Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our Intensive Bail Initiative team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the families of young people who are on bail, providing holistic and trauma-informed case management, and delivering wrap-around support to help them achieve their goals.

About the Role

This is a full-time, maximum term role (through to end of June 2025, with potential for extension) based in Mount Isa. You will report to the Team Leader and work closely with our Intensive Bail Initiative team to provide intensive case work, follow-up, and referrals to other specialist services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic, trauma-informed case management and deliver wrap-around support to the families of adolescents who are on bail
  • Identify strengths and establish goals for the young people and their families, and review progress towards these goals
  • Identify where additional assistance and external services are required, and provide appropriate information, support, and referrals
  • Promote skills which increase health, safety, and development

Bringing your best every day, means:

  • Demonstrated experience in case management and knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Demonstrated experience in working with the families of young people who have been in contact with the justice system
  • Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families
  • Strong report writing, analytical, and evaluation skills, including data collation and analysis
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or significant experience working in a similar service
