Role Overview

About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of external and internal issues that influence the strategic direction of the organisation. You will be able to build strong professional relationships with ministerial offices, senior executives, departmental staff, and other key stakeholders. Your ability to lead a small team, provide leadership, define expectations, monitor and manage performance is crucial for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and oversee the preparation of media releases, briefing notes, media event packs, and input to speeches
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with ministerial offices, senior executives, departmental staff, and other key stakeholders
• Lead a small team of media professionals, providing leadership, defining expectations, monitoring and managing performance

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:
• Ability to build a culture of collaboration across the organisation
• Comprehensive understanding of external and internal issues that influence the strategic direction of the organisation
• Ability to consider a broad range of topics and work across government and at senior levels to develop and deliver sustainable solutions
• Strategic relationships and knowledge to predict and prepare for the impact of events on the organisation
• High level advice on influencing and the needs of target audiences
• Role model ethical leadership through decision making and interactions with people

Salary
This position offers a competitive salary of AU$95,000 - AU$110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
