About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven sales professional to strengthen our sales culture and help grow our membership base. In this role, you will be responsible for the centralized delivery of membership sales for the City of Greater Geelong, promoting a strong sales and customer-centric approach across our network of centres.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  1. Develop and Implement Sales Systems and Processes: Assist the Membership Sales and Services Coordinator to ensure sales systems and processes meet business needs.
  2. Conduct Centre Tours and Sales Outreach: Conduct tours of Swim Sport & Leisure centres for potential members, educating the community about the services provided and selling memberships.
  3. Communicate with Members: Communicate with members, including phone calls, outreach activities, and written communications related to membership queries.
  4. Assist with Administrative Duties: Assist the Membership Sales and Services Coordinator in administrative duties relevant to sales, including reporting and activities related to debt control and membership lifecycle.
  5. Support Marketing and Customer Experience Initiatives: Assist the Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience team with duties including marketing activations, centre displays, new member acquisition, retention initiatives, and managing customer feedback.
About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in sales and working in a member-based organization. You will be comfortable liaising with a diverse range of people, have strong communication and negotiation skills, along with high levels of resilience, attention to detail, and enjoy identifying practical solutions to issues that you encounter.

Essential Experience:
  1. Previous Sales Experience: Previous sales experience in a competitive environment.
  2. High-Level Customer Service Skills: High level customer service skills and understanding of customer experience.
  3. Organizational and Planning Skills: Ability to plan and organize a range of tasks to meet timeframes and carry out assigned tasks.
  4. Customer Service and Membership Management Experience: Experience in a customer service/reception environment and an understanding of membership management systems would be highly regarded.
  5. Flexibility and Adaptability: The ability to be flexible and work across multiple centres in Greater Geelong. Position may involve morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
  6. Working with Children Check: Current (employee) Working with Children Check.
  7. National Police Check: Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process.
