Support Worker Role

We are seeking a passionate and keen Support Worker to join our team. If you are enthusiastic and have a passion for increasing youth involvement in programs and events, then we want you.

  • Our Community Work Skills program provides job search assistance and training such as resume preparation and writing, job interview skills, job search advice, networking opportunities and employability skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Support Worker will provide individualised one-on-one support and assistance to disadvantaged Queenslanders, enabling them to gain nationally recognised skills and vocational qualifications up to a certificate III level.
  • The support worker will provide information, advice, and referrals to services the person needs when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Minimum Certificate III in youth work, community development/welfare, human services or related discipline or equivalent level experience in social and community sector
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in undertaking the range of activities required
  • Effective time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and commitments
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders including young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Eligibility for a QLD Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Hold, or eligible to obtain, a light rigid driver's licence, eligible to obtain an RDA if required
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate
