Youth Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Youth Support Specialist to join our team. As a vital member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our care.

This rewarding role involves utilizing a tailored approach with a trauma-informed lens to support young people from diverse backgrounds. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing individualized support to children and young people who have experienced complex trauma and involvement in the child protection system.
  • Working alongside families to promote routine and structure, while implementing strategies to support family preservation.
  • Delivering supervised contact visits, in-home supports, respite, transportation, mentoring, and crisis accommodation to those at risk of homelessness.

In this challenging yet fulfilling role, you will draw upon your expertise in trauma-informed practice to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

We are looking for an experienced professional who can engage and build trust with young people. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Experience in engaging and building relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience in trauma-informed practice is highly regarded.
  • Sound knowledge of services to youth.
  • An ethical approach, acting with integrity and compassion to support and empower young people in meaningful ways.
  • Verbal and written communication skills (for mandatory reports).
  • A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle comprehensively insured.
  • A Working with Children Check.
  • A National Police Check issued within the last 6 months.
