Job Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled Construction Lawyer/Associate/Senior Associate to join our busy and well-regarded team in Sydney.

About the Role: As a Construction Lawyer/Associate/Senior Associate, you will work with our experienced partners on a range of matters, including advising clients on the drafting of design and construct agreements, alliance agreements, contractor and subcontract agreements, joint venture agreements, and project agreements. You will also provide advice on procurement methods and structures, the tender process, and probity, as well as general project management.

Responsibilities: Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice on construction law matters, including disputes and claims under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act
  • Working with partners to advise clients on the drafting of construction agreements and contracts
  • Providing advice on procurement methods and structures, the tender process, and probity
  • Assisting with the management of construction projects, including drafting associated documentation
  • Building strong client relationships and providing excellent client service

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Between 3 to 9 years' experience in construction law, preferably from a leading law firm or an in-house team in Australia or another major construction and infrastructure heavy jurisdiction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A willingness to work across a number of partners and build strong client relationships
  • An ability to be flexible and efficient under pressure
  • A team-focused attitude and an ability to act as mentor to junior lawyers, if senior
