Job Summary

The Event Planning Specialist is responsible for the planning and execution of meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions from initial handover to the final settlement of account.

This role will focus on event planning and management to ensure the hotel is the events market leader in the area. It directly drives revenue and increases market share across segments such as rooms, food and beverage, events, group, FIT, spa, and other revenue-generating sources in line with brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the planning of events including full event details, menu selection, creation of internal banquet event orders, and billing charges
  • Review all daily beverage and food and conference charges posted to relevant accounts during each event to ensure that all charges are in line with event orders
  • Ensure accurate forecasting to assist with hotel manpower planning
  • Work closely with Catering & Events Operation Manager and AV Company to ensure all aspects of the event are executed as per the Banquet Event Orders
  • Actively focus on upselling to maximize revenue streams for the hotel
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Higher Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Business Management and/or Hotel/Tourism Management
  • 1-2 years' experience minimum in a hotel event environment required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional customer service, high attention to detail, and a can-do attitude
