Job Summary:

Mechanical Designer/Drafter

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs and models for construction projects.

  • Import and manipulate vendor drawings/models.
  • Produce detailed mechanical drawings/models including P&IDs.
  • Export equipment/piping quantities.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical/Process engineers to deliver plans for construction.
  • Support project teams with documentation, revisions and coordination of drawings/models.
  • Establishing & maintaining design templates and drawing standards.

This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle or Brisbane. You will be working with a wide range of perspectives and expertise to every client and challenge.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in relevant CAD software, such as Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Plant 3D.
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design.
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, operational practices, and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes.
  • Relevant TAFE qualifications, diploma, or degree in drafting, engineering, or design.
  • Understanding of risk management and the ability to identify project and design-related risks.
  • Commitment to working safely and within our HSEQ systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for engaging with a broad range of audiences.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
