Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Culinary Specialist to enhance our vibrant kitchen team at SeaLink K'gari (Fraser Island). This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to live on the island, with a competitive salary structure, working a flexible schedule of 10 days on and 4 days off, totaling up to 76 hours biweekly.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor and a genuine passion for the Hospitality and Tourism sector.
  • Exhibits a hands-on work ethic.
  • Maintains impeccable grooming and personal presentation.
  • Possesses the ability to follow instructions effectively.
  • Capable of working across various dining outlets.
  • Knowledgeable in chemical and food safety practices.
  • Takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service to ensure memorable guest experiences.
  • Provides a professional level of service in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2-3 years of relevant industry experience post-qualification, ideally within a hotel or resort setting.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is highly regarded.
  • Completion of HACCP and Food Safety and Hygiene training.
  • Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Able to adapt to a diverse roster, including a 7-day working week.
  • A manual driver's license is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
