Architectural Visionary for a Vibrant Inner West Community

Transforming the Inner West is an exciting opportunity to lead the transformation of public and private spaces into places where people truly want to be.

This visionary role offers a rare chance to shape the architectural and urban character of one of Sydney's most diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive innovation and artistic expression in built environments across the Inner West.
  • Collaborate with Council teams to deliver high-quality, people-centred spaces and buildings.
  • Provide expert guidance on architectural excellence, heritage conservation, and sustainable design.
  • Work closely with planning, property, and project teams to shape civic buildings, parks, streetscapes, and more.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Urban Design, Heritage Conservation, or equivalent related disciplines.
  • Membership/accreditation with the Australian Institute of Architects or similar professional body.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in heritage and urban design and heritage-related matters in development assessment and local government arenas.
  • Experience in reviewing and commenting on scope and design from a range of stakeholders to resolve high-priority and often sensitive or complex matters.
  • Experience in leading strategic planning and design functions.
