Product Development Specialist

As a Product Development Specialist, you will be responsible for the development of dry food products from concept to launch. This role requires technical expertise and customer engagement skills to create custom solutions that balance flavour, functionality, and cost.
You will work closely with sales, production, QA, and procurement teams to ensure seamless scale-up and first production runs. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Formulating and developing dry food products in line with customer requirements.
- Balancing customer briefs with proactive innovation to maintain a competitive edge.
- Translating customer requirements into high-performance, shelf-stable formulations.
- E nsuring compliance with food safety, HACCP, labelling, and certification requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline, with 5+ years' experience in NPD, ideally in dry food formulation for food service.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong technical knowledge in seasonings, coatings, gravies, sauces, and functional ingredients.
- Proven customer-facing capability with strong communication skills.
- Hands-on, practical problem solver with excellent project management skills.
