Product Development Specialist

Job Role:
The Product Development Specialist will be responsible for interpreting customer needs, trends and commercial insights to develop a product portfolio that meets our customers' expectations.
You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to bring new products to market, ensuring we deliver innovative, high-quality products that meet our customers' needs.
The Product Development Specialist sets the quality standards and product characteristics of our products.
- Identify and interpret lifestyle, customer and food trends and incorporate them into our category strategy
- Possess product and packaging knowledge to deliver successful product development
- Develop 1-3 year plans for existing product ranges to ensure ongoing commercial success and growth
- Deliver the product strategy, developing products in line with our brand values
- Monitor performance of new products, quality and sales, and agree on appropriate action with the team
- Set quality standards by defining clear product attributes and continually benchmarking and challenging standards
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in retail and/or commerce
- Prior experience in retail product development
- Prior experience in supplier development/management
- Prior experience with customer data/insights
- Ability to gather and analyze customer data and use it to support strategic direction/development plans
- Evidence of passion for product and knowledge of product trends
- Strong personal organizational and project management skills
