Meat Department Supervisor

This is a key role within our Meat Department, requiring a high level of leadership and communication skills.

  • The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, supporting the team in driving productivity and promoting excellent member service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to improve department performance and meet business objectives.
  2. Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  3. Co-ordinate employee development programs and provide coaching and feedback to ensure individual and team performance improvement.
  4. Manage employment processes including hiring, promotion, and termination, ensuring fair and consistent decision-making.
  5. Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in customer service and product quality.

Additional Duties:

  • Provide guidance and support to employees, empowering them to take ownership of their work and make decisions that drive business results.
  • Participate in inventory management, maintaining accurate records and reporting on sales data as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve business goals and develop new initiatives to drive growth.
  • Monitor and report on departmental performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a retail or food industry setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
