Resource Recovery Coordinator

, About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Resource Recovery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating waste service contracts, implementing community education campaigns, and liaising with stakeholders in the waste sector.

The role plays a crucial part in procuring and delivering waste services, in line with Council's Waste Management Plan 2021-25. This position requires strong leadership qualities, technical knowledge of the waste sector, and excellent communication skills.

  • Liaise with waste sector stakeholders to implement new waste reforms;
  • Develop and implement community education campaigns;
  • Coordinate Council's Resource Recovery team and manage waste service contracts;

Liaison and Communication: Liaise with waste sector stakeholders to introduce new waste reforms and ensure effective communication throughout the process.

Community Education: Develop and implement community education campaigns to facilitate the introduction of new or changed waste services.

Team Coordination: Coordinate Council's Resource Recovery team and manage waste service contracts to ensure efficient delivery of waste services.

, Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess a Degree in environment, engineering, or sciences, with relevant work experience in the waste services industry and management. Alternatively, lesser qualifications with substantial relevant experience or substantial relevant experience commensurate with the requirements of the position may be considered.

Suitable candidates will have sound technical knowledge of the waste sector, resource recovery, and circular economy principles, as well as strong communication and leadership skills.
