Our company is a leading provider of geotechnical and environmental consulting services in Australia. We have offices across the country, including Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Gold Coast.

About this Role

This role involves supporting clients' tailings and mine waste management teams to ensure facilities are safe. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the latest standards, which is critical for mining companies to demonstrate their commitment to ESG and Social License to Operate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Civil/Geotechnical/Tailings dam design;
  • Geotechnical analyses using various software packages;
  • Understanding of tailing deposition modelling (Muk3D);
  • Geotechnical and environmental site characterisation;
  • Development and management of instrumentation monitoring systems;
  • Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
  • Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications;
  • Client Development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field;
  • Advanced degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field (preferred);
  • Professional registration (preferred but not essential);
  • Engineer of Record (EoR) status required;
  • At least 8 years (10+ preferred) of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software required;
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required;
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required;
  • Valid Australian driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel required;
