About the Role

Better Place Australia is a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating a safer, more confident Australia. As a Psychosocial Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering the HOPE Suicide Prevention Program in the Dandenong region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide non-clinical assertive outreach follow-up support to individuals who have attempted suicide
  • Develop and implement safety and well-being plans to support clients in crisis
  • Facilitate linkages with services and life-sustaining supports
  • Work collaboratively with clients, family members, and service providers to identify solutions
Requirements
  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as Social Work or Case Management
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, providing non-clinical outreach support to vulnerable clients
  • Sound understanding of suicidal ideation and attempts, including awareness of at-risk groups
  • Proven ability to work with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTI individuals, and people experiencing mental health conditions
