Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher to join our dynamic teaching team as a Health and Physical Education Teacher (Secondary).

This is a full-time teaching position that offers the opportunity to shape a flourishing learning community where physical wellbeing, resilience and Christian character development are nurtured through every lesson.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Health and Physical Education lessons aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment that encourages participation and achievement.
  • Contribute actively to school sport, including carnivals, co-curricular activities and interschool/community sporting events.
  • Assess and report on student progress in accordance with College and curriculum guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents and the broader community to support holistic student growth.
  • Model and promote values of teamwork, discipline and respect.
  • Support the broader wellbeing of students as part of a Christ-centred educational team.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

  • A personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Christian church.
  • A clear alignment with SCEA's Statement of Faith and Foundational Beliefs.
  • Registration (or eligibility) with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Physical Education.
  • A strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum in HPE.
  • Capacity to integrate ICT effectively into teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain one.

Desirable:

  • Experience in coaching and coordinating school sports teams.
  • Current First Aid qualifications.
