We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Physical Education professional to enhance our educational team. This is a permanent full-time or part-time position, offering a dynamic environment for career growth.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and inclusive Physical Education programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. They will also contribute to creating a vibrant sports culture across Years 7–12 and support student wellbeing through physical activity and pastoral care. A strong background in basketball is highly regarded, as opportunities exist to contribute to specialist basketball programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver Physical Education programs that meet the diverse needs of students, incorporating inclusive and differentiated teaching practices.
- Plan and implement effective learning experiences across both standard Physical and Specialist Physical Education streams.
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management and student engagement strategies, promoting a positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Integrate Christian values into teaching, fostering positive relationships with students and promoting their spiritual growth.
- Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students and parents, supporting their academic progress and wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate and current records of student participation, progress, and achievement, ensuring seamless communication with parents and guardians.
- Contribute to a collaborative culture within the Health, Outdoor & Physical Education department, sharing expertise and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
- Support school events such as carnivals, interschool sport, and co-curricular activities, enhancing the overall student experience.
- Demonstrate confidence using digital technologies in teaching and assessment, embracing innovative approaches to enhance student learning.
- Engage fully in College life, participating in camps, excursions, and staff devotions that promote a sense of community and shared values.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments and year levels in pastoral and academic planning, fostering a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and be an active member of a Christian Church.
- Accept and align with the Association's Statement of Faith, Foundational Beliefs, and educational philosophy.
- Hold appropriate teaching qualifications and registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia.
- Demonstrated experience or training in Physical Education, including coaching and/or player development.
- Ability to foster student engagement and wellbeing through physical activity, human movement, sport, and Christian values.
- Hold a current Motor Vehicle Licence (MR or HR) or be willing to obtain one.
- Experience in basketball coaching and/or player development, preferably at a high-performance level.
- Experience in delivering or supporting high-performance or specialist sports programs, contributing to the development of young athletes.
- Willingness to teach Outdoor Education and Health would be considered advantageous, expanding your teaching scope and impact.
- Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
- Commitment to the College's Christian ethos and values, upholding its mission and vision.
