Our client, a successful $200M revenue company in the utilities industry, is seeking a Contract Management Specialist to oversee the entire contract management lifecycle and offer insights that facilitate efficient administration and effective supplier performance management.

The Role:

  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders on complex contract management issues, balancing commercial viability with business needs.
  • Maintain contract management systems in line with quality and governance standards.
  • Conduct regular analysis and reporting on supplier and contract performance.
  • Lead negotiations and manage variations or terminations of contracts, ensuring quality control throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Monitor for emerging contractual issues and implement mitigation measures to address them effectively.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, serving as the go-to contact for all contractual inquiries.
  • Keep all contract management documentation organized and compliant with governance standards.
  • Act as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders for legal contract matters.
  • Facilitate meetings to address all contract-related issues and foster collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Review and maintain supplier certification requirements to ensure compliance with contract obligations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop briefing notes, reports, and correspondence related to contract management activities.
  • Work with the Contract Manager to continuously enhance contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
  • Prepare insightful reports on contract management service delivery to support ongoing improvements.
  • Contribute to a high-performing, customer-focused, and innovative contract management team within the Supply Chain Services Business Unit.
  • Assist in managing relationships with sub-contractors and vendors.

What you will need:

  • At least 2-5 years experience in a procurement/contracts role.
  • Tertiary qualification in business management, supply chain management or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing a procurement function or improving existing procurement practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
