Assistant Principal Role

A school in a small rural community is seeking an experienced Assistant Principal to lead the development and delivery of programs that promote academic achievement, engagement, and wellbeing for students.

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student outcomes;
  • Build productive partnerships with staff, families, and the local community;
  • Lead ongoing curriculum reform and professional learning;

This role requires outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. The successful candidate will also have knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

About the School

The school has an enrolment of around 123 students, with approximately half each in primary and secondary departments. Over the past 5 years, the school context has shifted significantly due to changes in demographics and an increase in the Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI). As a result, the school has a diverse range of students, including 40% who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

  • The capacity to develop and implement strategies to enhance student outcomes;
