Service Director Opportunity at Northcott

Northcott seeks a skilled Service Director to lead our accommodation operations in Ballina Shire, working across multiple sites.

This full-time role will involve managing the day-to-day operations of Housing and Supported Independent Living services, ensuring customers receive high-quality support aligned with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with experience in developing and managing high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers, families, and staff
  • Supporting customers with complex needs, including mental health and physical support requirements
  • Identifying and resolving problems using a person-centered approach
  • Motivating team members and fostering a culture of excellence
  • Practicing leadership in team meetings and individual supervisions, mentoring, and coaching team members
  • Proactively training staff to ensure exceptional customer outcomes
  • Managing budgets and financial systems in line with the NDIS price guide
  • Performing ad-hoc duties, prioritizing customer quality of life and care
  • Reviewing and updating rosters, ensuring policy and procedure compliance, and reporting requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to resolve team issues
  • Open to new ideas and approaches to longstanding or emerging problems
  • Encourages a strong customer focus and builds understanding of customer perspectives within the team
  • Communicates effectively, promoting organizational values of being Innovative, Respectful, and Brave
  • Demonstrates these values through interactions with teams
  • Considers business and organizational objectives when making decisions
  • Prioritizes and plans daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks to achieve customer and team outcomes
  • Experience in supporting, planning, and setting up new services in a residential setting
  • Knowledge of the disability sector, NDIS funding, SIL quotes, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework
  • High-level administrative skills, including computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft programs
