Commercial Project Director

  • A commercial project director leads the delivery of complex and high-profile projects across various sectors.
  • They are responsible for developing detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budget, resources, and risks.
  • The commercial project director manages day-to-day project activities, coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project progression.
  • They oversee and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and projects are delivered within financial parameters.
  • The commercial project director ensures compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • They communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure alignment and progress updates.
  • The commercial project director conducts regular project reviews to monitor performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • They lead and mentor project teams, ensuring high levels of collaboration, performance, and motivation.
  • The commercial project director prepares progress reports, presentations, and documentation for senior management and clients.
  • They ensure timely project delivery by proactively managing project timelines and mitigating potential delays.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in project management in the construction industry, with expertise across healthcare, commercial, education, civil/mining, remote, or concrete/batching projects.
  • A strong understanding of construction processes, project management methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide project teams.
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of local construction regulations and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
  • Experience in remote construction projects or batching operations.
  • Previous experience managing projects within the healthcare or education sectors.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools.
