Financial Accountant Role

This is a hands-on financial accountant position where you will drive financial accuracy, compliance, and process efficiencies. This role will be pivotal in streamlining financial processes, ensuring robust internal controls, and supporting key commercial decisions.

  • Month-end financial reporting, general ledger reviews & reconciliations
  • Preparation of budgets & forecasts alongside FP&A teams
  • Tax compliance including BAS, FBT & payroll tax
  • Managing internal & external audits
  • Overseeing customer rebate & incentive accruals
  • Driving process improvements & system efficiencies
  • Business partnering with internal stakeholders to support commercial decision-making
  • Oversight of AP & AR functions, working closely with offshore shared services
Key Responsibilities

As a senior financial accountant, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Providing financial leadership and guidance to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  2. Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to maintain compliance and efficiency
  3. Coordinating and overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
  4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and drive commercial growth
  5. Analyzing financial data and providing insights to inform strategic business decisions
  6. Staying up-to-date on changing regulatory requirements and implementing effective solutions to maintain compliance
  7. Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to promote open communication and collaboration
  8. Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A relevant accounting qualification, such as CPA or CA
  • Proven experience in a similar financial accounting role within a multinational FMCG, manufacturing, or wholesale industry
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and compliance experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with large data sets and reconciliations
  • Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and drive financial insights
  • Experience working with high transaction volumes in a complex, commercial environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take ownership of financial operations
