Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Foster Carer Recruitment and Support Practitioner. This is a key role in the recruitment and retention of therapeutic foster carers, providing information, managing enquiries, training, assessment and support.

About the Role

This position plays a critical part in Anglicare Victoria's Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) model, which provides a trauma-informed, relationship-based service for children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural, developmental, and cultural needs. The successful candidate will work closely with a specialist care team to create a safe, stable, and therapeutically supported home environment for these young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Targeted carer recruitment, including intake and triaging.
  • Contribution to a recruitment strategy, including advertising and marketing.
  • Presentation and delivery of carer information sessions and training.
  • Assessment of Foster Carers.
  • Management and support of enquiries from new or potential carers.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated training and assessment skills, including presentation/facilitation of training/information sessions and conducting accreditation assessments.
  • Ability to devise and implement media campaigns in a creative and professional manner pertinent to the needs of Foster Care recruitment.
  • Not-for-profit experience and previous out-of-home care sector knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, communicating with influence, organisational, planning, and relationship management skills.
