Inclusion Support Officer Role

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as an Inclusion Support Officer. This role will involve working closely with early childhood centers, preschools, and out-of-school hours care services to develop and maintain inclusive learning environments and curriculums.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with children, families, and communities to create a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes social justice and equality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the development and implementation of Strategic Inclusion Plans for Early Childhood Centres, Preschools, and Out-of-School Hours Care Services;
  2. Work collaboratively with teachers, educators, and other stakeholders to create inclusive learning environments;
  3. Provide support and guidance to families and communities to promote inclusion and social justice;
  4. Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures that promote inclusion and diversity.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification associated with Early Childhood and/or Primary School Education, or disability support;
  • Sound understanding or practical knowledge of the work undertaken in the Children's Services Sector;
  • Experience working with children with additional needs;
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and organisational skills;
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills that ensure effective sharing of information and support to staff and management;
  • Proactive approach including being a motivated self-starter and having the ability to work flexibly and effectively within a team and under minimal supervision;
  • Reliable, punctual, and mature attitude to work;
  • Demonstrated understanding of professional boundaries, privacy, and confidentiality.
