Job Description

The Governance and Legal Services branch of the Brisbane City Council requires a skilled solicitor to provide legal advice and support.

As a corporate governance and compliance solicitor, you will work closely with the team to ensure that all legal requirements are met and the council's interests are protected.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing legal advice and drafting documents on procurement contracts, competition and consumer law matters, governance, and intellectual property law
  • Working closely with the team to ensure that all legal requirements are met
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including internal clients, external partners, and suppliers
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 4 years of post-admission experience
  • Expertise in complex construction, intellectual property, and/or information technology law
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
