Job Overview

Cyber security plays a vital role in safeguarding digital assets and reputation. This position entails providing expert security architecture and advisory support to ensure our digital presence is secure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced security architecture to protect critical digital assets
  • Foster cyber resilience through technical solutions
  • Deliver practical, high-quality solutions in complex environments
  • Offer general security guidance across the cyber security architecture and assurance domains
  • Contribute to developing security requirements aligned with organizational security objectives
  • Perform security architecture activities to integrate business security requirements into IT initiatives and projects
  • Collaborate with solution architects, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure secure outcomes
  • Review and assess planned solution security controls for effectiveness and completeness
  • Contribute to security risk assessments to evaluate posture and identify mitigation recommendations
Requirements
  • A diploma or degree in Information Technology (IT) or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a Cyber Security Architect with successful ICT project/solution delivery
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (ISM, Essential Eight, NIST CSF)
  • Proven experience designing and implementing security solutions for on-premises and cloud environments
  • Experience in developing security requirements, threat modelling, risk assessments, and risk analyses
  • Expertise across ICT technologies to support architecture documentation
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Desirable: experience supporting multiple complex projects
  • Desirable: experience with PSPF
  • Desirable: ACSC guidance, NIST SP, CIS benchmarks
  • Desirable: understanding of shared responsibility model in cloud/on-premises
  • Desirable: familiarity with Privacy Act 1988 and Archives Act 1983
  • Desirable: relevant security industry certifications
