This full-time, fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity to work on a cutting-edge industry-funded initiative, revolutionizing the future of electric vehicle batteries. You will be responsible for designing and testing battery cells, conducting experiments related to materials recovery, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop sustainable solutions for battery recycling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and test battery cells for electric vehicles
  • Conduct experiments related to materials recovery and recycling
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop sustainable solutions for battery recycling
  • Develop and implement new technologies for battery reuse and recycling
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and publications
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field
  • A PhD in chemical engineering or a related field
  • Significant experience in research and development related to battery cell design and testing
  • A thorough understanding of health and safety issues related to electric batteries
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory or industrial setting, conducting experiments related to materials recovery
  • Familiarity with recycling processes, materials recovery, and the circular economy principles applicable to battery materials
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

This position attracts a remuneration package of $97,113 to $108,813 per annum, plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
