About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring individual to join our team as a Lifestyle & Wellbeing Carer. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by providing support and opportunities for them to engage in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Activity Coordination: Plan and deliver engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents, including art classes, gardening clubs, day trips, and movie nights.
  • Social Support: Foster a sense of community among residents by facilitating social interactions, encouraging participation in group activities, and providing emotional support to those who require it.
  • Daily Living Assistance: Assist residents with daily tasks, such as mealtimes, outings, and personal care, ensuring their dignity and comfort are maintained at all times.
  • Resident Feedback: Gather feedback from residents and their families to ensure that our activities meet their needs and preferences.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan and implement activities, document progress, and escalate any concerns.
  • Infection Control: Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Catering Support: Assist with meal preparation, plating, and serving, ensuring that food safety standards are met and resident preferences are respected.

Requirements:

  • First Aid Certification: Possession of a current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Australian Driver's Licence: Desirable but not essential.
  • Passion for Caring: A genuine passion for enriching the lives of others and making a positive impact.
  • Can-Do Spirit: A proactive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Creative Spark: The ability to think creatively and come up with innovative ideas for activities and programs.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, colleagues, and family members.
  • Care Experience: Previous experience in caring for older adults within an aged care or community setting is essential.
