Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Team Lead to join our Housing and Shelter team at Our Place Society. As a key member of our team, you will provide leadership and support to staff and residents, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of residents and staff, responding to medical emergencies and incidents as needed.
  • Develop and implement resident support plans, working closely with the Site Supervisor and support team.
  • Assist residents with daily tasks, such as room cleaning and laundry, and provide support with independent living skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and files for residents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support services.
  • Oversee the daily functioning of the shelter/housing site, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to staff, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
Requirements
  • Diploma in a related human or social services field.
  • Minimum of two years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of current social issues related to homelessness, mental illness, and addiction.
  • Training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approaches.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and navigate stairs and uneven terrain.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week), with a competitive hourly rate and comprehensive benefits package.
